Just uploaded a penciled and inked page of Fredrikus to the Behind the Scenes tier on Patreon.
By becoming a patron, you get access to looks at projects before anyone else and in a way that is typically not shown via my other online channels. The Behind the Scenes tier also gets you access to the serial novel, essays on the creative life (along with helpful tips), and, soon, the special version of the upcoming Fredrikuswebcomic, which contains bonus material that won’t be available elsewhere online. Oh, and you also get a nifty Official Canister X membership card only available at this tier level and up.
First Edition Undead World Trilogy Going Out of Print.
Like I said I would mention when the time came, the first editions of my Undead World Trilogy (Blood of the Dead, Possession of the Dead, Redemption of the Dead) are going out of print as of today. My distributors will be notified and in the case of eBooks, the files will be pulled down. You have maybe a couple days to load up on copies but that’s about it. Please grab them now because this is the last chance. (I will leave the thumbnails up in my Book and Comic Shop until the switch-over when the new ones come out.)
The new editions for all three books in the Undead World Trilogy will be out soon enough and there will be info on the blog when that time comes.
Thank you for supporting these first editions, whether that was back when they first came out or just recently.
Ps. Today, a little secret something for the Behind the Scenes tier on my Patreon page was posted. Go here to check it out. Thanks.
Patreon has been a lot of fun since the get-go. There was a learning curve–just like for all things–but we’ve settled into a groove. And while true there will be new tiers as the year goes on, the current tier structure of Serialized Novels, Essays, Behind the Scenes, and the Gold Standard is working out just fine.
And I want you to be a part of the journey.
Here are some index-like stats and summaries to let you know what’s presently on the page:
Serialized Novels ($1 a month)
Presently airing is Gigantigator Death Machine. The majority of the book is uploaded with a new chapter posting every two weeks. Lots already there for this story about a group of young adults wanting a simple beer-fest getaway with friends that quickly turns into a race for their lives against a giant, bloodthirsty alligator. This is pure creature feature B-horror with all the fun and guts B-horror is known for.
Essays ($2 a month)
This tier gives you access to the serial novel as well as essays focusing on the creative arts industry.
The following essays are available for immediate reading:
The Secret to Social Media Success Part 1 The Secret to Social Media Success Part 2 The Secret to Social Media Success Part 3 How to Write Well Every Time: Proper Writing The Road Back: How to Create Again After a Hiatus Spontaneous Book or Comic Marketing How to Maintain a Blogging Schedule
Behind the Scenes ($5 a month)
This tier gives you access to the serial novel, the essays, and behind-the-scenes looks unavailable anywhere else. Plus, you also get a cool A.P. Fuchs/Canister X Official Membership Card with your name on it.
Presently shared:
Behind the Scenes – Studio Space 091319 Behind the Scenes – Secret Project No. 3 092719 Behind the Scenes – Web Interface 100419 Behind the Scenes – Axiom-man/Auroraman Artwork 110119 Behind the Scenes – New Studio Space 122419 Behind the Scenes – Secret Project No. 3 Pages 012120
Gold Standard ($30 a month)
This tier gives you all the benefits of the previous tiers plus every month I will mail out to you a signed and, if you choose, personalized hardcopy book or comic from my bibliography to add to your collection. Comics come bagged and boarded.
The books and comics that I’m drawing from are available for viewing in my Book and Comic Shop. Take a look to get an idea as to what to expect in your mailbox.
Lastly, as regular content for all the tiers, not only do you receive whatever items from the tier you choose, I also post patron-only blog posts and reveals, video content, and messages for special occassions.
Thank you. Hope you enjoyed this little rundown of what’s presently available on my Patreon page and, of course, more content will be added as February rolls along. Hope you join me and my other patrons for more intrigue, information, entertainment, and fun as we head further into 2020.
Please join myself and my other patrons on Patreon by going here.
For further reading, here is a blog post from about a month after being on the Patreon platform and my thoughts thereof.
My name is A.P. Fuchs and I’m a writer of words, drawer of pictures, and freelancer in pretty much anything to do with publishing. You are tuned into my blog, Canister X, my official web presence and the Realm of Heroes and Monsters. I’ve been writing and publishing since my first short story sale in 2000, and have been creating and publishing books and comics since 2003.
My Patreon page is here. It’s a special place where I post serial novels, essays on the creative arts business, stuff from behind the scenes here in the Great White North at Axiom-man Central, and more. Join me and my other patrons and be a part of something fun and interesting with regular and reliable content.
Also, on Saturdays, I send out my newsletter, The Canister X Transmission. It’s a weekly newsletter where we all come together after a busy week, unwind, and kick off the weekend. Presently, we are finishing off The Long Year Five, and Year Six will start before the first half of 2020 is over. Join us.
Thank you for coming alongside of me on the blog this month.
With Project Rebuild underway, we’re getting into that season I’ve been talking about for the past while: release season.
Though the project list between new stuff and the reissues is long, here is the short-term release schedule with an estimate on timeframe. (Times to be locked down next week so the below is a rough guide. Things will probably happen faster but I’m giving breathing room just in case.)
Blood of the Dead – later February 2020 Possession of the Dead – later February 2020 Redemption of the Dead – later February 2020
New release:
Gigantigator Death Machine – First half of 2020
We’ll revisit this list as time goes on.
Also note Gigantigator Death Machine is currently airing on my Patreon as a serial novel. You can read it early by going here (just a buck a month plus it’s a way to support me as a creator; new chapter every two weeks).
The method to the madness here is seeing where things are at after the first round of reissues. This will inform the timing of the next batch of reissues and the next new release, but for now, let’s focus on First Batch of Releases 2020.
There are more cool things happening behind the scenes but I haven’t gotten into them publicly. Some details are still being ironed out (involves other people) so if/when I’m able to talk about it, I will. Regardless, these processes behind the scenes are working and all is on track.
These are the Manitoba Prairies in winter. Photo taken while driving by.
Locked Up Cold – Manitoba Prairies in Winter
Everything is locked up in ice in Winnipeg today with, according to the weather network and the time of this writing (morning), the temperature being -33C (-43C with the windchill).
Everything is utterly frozen solid in a giant block of ice, which means it’s time to simply hunker down and work. Lots of focus behind the scenes here at the Central. I gave you the rundown yesterday on where things are at roughly two weeks into 2020. Status is the same as of today. A good way to stay current on project statuses is via my weekly newsletter because info isn’t always shared on the blog.
