  • The Summoning (The Axiom-man Saga, Book 5)

Posted on October 24, 2025 6:15 am by A.P. Fuchs

The Summoning (The Axiom-man Saga, Book 5)

Axiom-man: The Summoning Superhero Book Front Cover

    No more.

Redsaw has been terrorizing Winnipeg for too long. Worse, Axiom-man has been unable to stop him and Redsaw has used that opportunity to create his own brand of chaos.

Riots fill the streets. Fires break out every day. Looters run rampant and murderers go unpunished.

No one is safe with Redsaw orchestrating it all from the shadows. Hiding. Untraceable. This battle for power can’t go on. As chaos rips the city apart, the cops are overwhelmed and Axiom-man cannot locate his enemy.

Now, not only does Axiom-man have to settle the battle with Redsaw, he also needs to settle the battle within himself. The mask and cape have taken their toll and the cost is rising, especially since Gabriel being Axiom-man is driving a wedge between him and Valerie Vaughan.

The mission is simple: find Redsaw and put an end to his reign of red-powered darkness forever.

There will be a fight, and Axiom-man has to be ready.

    Begin transmission . . .

Running from March 2024 to January 2025, The Canister X Transmission was sent via email to readers worldwide.

Year Seven broke a streak of two long newsletter years and was instead delivered to readers weekly without missing an issue.

Topics include: work updates, access to digital content, writing and publishing discussion, an open letter about the rise of AI, thoughts on life, points of amusement, and general fun.

Exclusive to this collection is a special newsletter, Issue Three Hundred Thirteen A, unavailable anywhere else.

  • Dystopian YA and Horror Bestsellers in June!

Dystopian YA and Horror Bestsellers in June!

bestsellers june typhon project bigfoot terror tales zombie fight night A.P. Fuchs Melinda Marshall

June did pretty good in terms of book sales. Had some that outshone the others so am mentioning them here.

What was especially pleasing was seeing ZOMBIE FIGHT NIGHT: BATTLES OF THE DEAD on there. It’s an older book but seems to fly under the radar most of the time despite it being an effort to put everything awesome into one tale.

Also on a personal level was seeing folks picking up GIGANTI-GATOR DEATH MACHINE: TRIPLE FEATURE. Swamp horror is always fun and these three all-in-one novellas were a B-movie love letter to the horrors of the swamp. Reviews have been solid on this one so maybe someday this type of gigantic monster thriller will be revisited.

Melinda Marshall scored well with THE TYPHON PROJECT. If you’re into dystopian YA (young adult) fiction, it’ll be right up your alley, especially with all the genetic fooling around.

And then, of course, we had bigfoot because, well, who doesn’t love bigfoot? Nice to see my anthology effort with Eric S. Brown still has some legs.

Thank you to everyone who supported Coscom Entertainment last month. We’re a very small publishing house but have been around bringing books to the public since 2004 in various incarnations . . . and we’re still standing.

Thank you again for these dystopian YA and horror bestsellers this past June.

If you’re interested in the above titles or books in a similar vein, the Book and Comic Shop here on this site is your best bet for selection as all is shown there all in one place.

(June’s book titles listed above take you straight to Amazon for paperback or Kindle editions.)

    Cheers.

    Not again.

There is something different about this world, something familiar. Something that feels like . . . home. But this place of red mist and darkness belongs to another crusader, this one in a dark red trench coat, a blood-red cloak, and a fedora casting shadows on a face with goggles and a strange mask.

With no clue where this red mist brought him, Axiom-man and this crimson stranger are swept into a bizarre hotel where each floor brings a deadly new mission, and to make matters worse, Axiom-man doesn’t have his powers.

Trial upon trial ensues as Axiom-man and a man who calls himself the Crimson Cloak try to survive deadly traps in a building from hell.

    One blue. One red.

    About CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS:

“A.P. Fuchs’ s Caught in Black Headlights highlights life things, all sorts of things, with a wondrous and unrelenting discernment and a brilliant sense of lyricism.” – John Urbancik, author of Annabel Lee, in Shadow

    All right, World,
This is how it’s going to be:
    Rhymes and verse
    Melodies rehearsed
    Across life’s rocky sea.

    Listen up, Folks,
This is how we’re going to play:
    Thoughts and comments,
    Displays of indominance,
    Making the rounds all day.

    Read a poem, maybe two,
Pick three if you wish to dare.
    Ramblings and coherence,
    Sometimes jots of incoherence
    Anything for poetic flare.

So get some eyes on some words
And give the brain a try.
    You win some.
    You lose most.
But in the end, Solomon said,
    It’s vapor in the sky.

    Enjoy and explore,
    Please do, I implore.
    Let’s talk about life bizarre
    ‘Cause it’s pretty complex stuff
    Said Harvey Pekar.

Live at Winnipeg Comic Con 2024 author A.P. Fuchs interviews author Melinda Marshall about her new Dystopian YA release, THE TYPHON PROJECT!

This book was a hot seller at the show and Melinda put a lot of work into it. The miracle of this book is the first draft was written in three days as part of a novel writing contest. Of course, it went through revisions and edits after, but getting a first draft out in three days is an impressive feat.

Listen to Melinda as she discusses her new book that debuted at the convention and found its way into many readers’ hands.

THE TYPHON PROJECT by Melinda Marshall:

    Short synopsis:

To save humanity, Leah is among the chosen for genetic modification. She is sent to The Typhon Project with the hope of finding a cure to save what’s left of the planet. But she can’t shake the suspicion something isn’t right.

Monsters and Mechs Bestsellers in September

A.P. Fuchs Giant Alligators and Zombies and Mech Bestselling Books

Though I’m not one to have a constant eye on the sales charts, running a publishing house requires administration now and then to keep things organized and knowing what’s where and what’s what so that, should the paperwork ever need to be looked at by an authority from the outside, I have all my ducks in a row.

I’m a huge proponent of proper business management for any creator regardless of craft or medium. If you’re selling your work, you’re a business therefore things need to be addressed in that light.

September 2024 saw some cool titles for top sales. While true that every book is an author’s baby, let’s be honest, some babies are cuter than others. In the case of MECH APOCALYPSE, GIGANTI-GATOR DEATH MACHINE, and ZOMTROPOLIS, these are babies I personally consider among the top cute ones in my crib. They also have favorable reviews so, I suppose, that means others think they’re cute too.

    Ah, metaphors.

Thank you to everyone who supported these titles last month. I truly hope you enjoy(ed) reading them and that they take/took you on a wild ride through the fantastic, whether terrifying or scientific or a bit of both.

Oh, and let’s not forget the action part. Lots of that in all of them, too. I mean, monsters and mechs. What else would there be?

Thank you again. It means a lot to a creator when their work is supported. Like I’ve mentioned on this blog before, if I was independently wealthy, all this stuff would be free and paperbacks would only be charged at cost so a sweet deal for you. Until that day, thank you in advance for any further support.
