Back to Technicalities – Blog Update

    circuit board

Okay, fair enough. This blog hasn’t been regularly updated in a long while. That’s on me. You could argue it’s also on life and, no, this not a writer making the standard excuse of everyday life being too busy for their art life.

The blog update is this: Regular blogging took a backseat due to limited brain power, meaning the old noggin was used for deep thinking on other endeavors–creative and otherwise–thus in a state of mush come blogging time. The other items took priority–like getting books written on a tight deadline then off to press–and had to be done otherwise I might as well put the entire creative career on hold. Those labors needed to occur so their fruits would inform what happens on the screen in front of you. Guess you could say they resemble the circuit board above.

You might have noticed this website went from dark to light. This is not me. This is WordPress. I keep setting it back to dark mode and it keeps bouncing back to light mode. Perhaps by the time you read this I’ll have it figured out, but if not, then you know why.

The idea here is to get back into regular blogging. Sometimes it might be detailed, like an essay or article, other times book listings, announcements, musings, etc. As per usual, we’ll keep it to superheroes, monsters, and the arts.

Plan? Right after I publish this entry, I’m going to try and fix the light/dark issue permanently. Next is a moderate face lift for this blog since the last time its aesthetics were updated was seven years ago. This will be a [relatively] slow-morph project so each time you visit, you should see at least one thing adjusted, if not more.

For those who haven’t stopped by in a while, the latest personal release is the merch item of the Axiom-man sketchbook following the release of the BATTLE OF POWER TRILOGY for THE AXIOM-MAN SAGA last year. That trilogy finished Act One of the saga. As per this week’s newsletter (which is for everyone so feel free to get on board), the title for the next installment and the kick-off to Act Two is AXIOM-MAN: AFTERMATH. This is an episode installment, so a novella. It’ll be a quasi-epilogue and quasi-prologue to Act Two. The goal is to have this book out by Winnipeg Comic Con in the fall.

    Back on the Air

    Aaaand . . . we’re back on the air!

(Or, at least, I hope so.)

Bottomline: WordPress updated and my site went screwy and, due to time constraints, I was unable to address it straightaway. The blog was visible and accessible to you, but not to me in regards to the back end where the content creation is done and what brings you new posts.

Anyway, after a debacle with my hosting provider, I fixed it myself (but, to be fair, they did provide a link that helped with troubleshooting but, in the end, it was a fix not part of their instruction; whatever).

So this is why the blog hasn’t been updated in a while and content is a bit behind. Please be patient with me as I bring this website back up to speed, but I wanted to drop this note to say we’re back up and running.

    Thanks.

PS: Why not check some monster and superhero books while waiting? Thanks again.

Today’s work log up to the time of this post: 4:05PM CST:

I’m sure I’ll be doing a little more yet, and though the above list looks small, it took a good while. This was my work log for May 11, 2024.

    Anyway, quick! To the Central!

    More Blog Updates

    blog updates

This is just a quick note to let everyone know that things are still occurring on this blog on the backend. Some changes you’ll see up front, like new graphics or some links. Other changes are occurring behind the scenes, stuff that Google notices but not you, dear reader. The good news is, if Google notices it, so will you and will have an easier time finding it.

In the meantime, maybe make a game of it. How many subtle changes can you spot as we conduct more blog updates?

For now, please check out the latest release, AXIOM-MAN/CRIMSON CLOAK: SCARLET SYNERGY and other Axiom-man titles in the Book and Comic Shop.

2024 is going to be a superhero of a year!

    A.P. Fuchs LinkTree Ultra Update

For those unaware, I keep a LinkTree. The One Link, as I call it. From there you can go to every single place I am on on the Web. YouTube, TikTok, Facebook, this site . . . the list goes on. We also did up a new color scheme the other day, but this weekend I updated my LinkTree (which you can subscribe to) with a catalog of my books via their new store feature. It’s pretty cool and part of the LinkTree ultra update.

Check it out here. And if you’re a creator, I highly recommend getting a LinkTree of your own.

One Link to rule them all!

  • Machine Month Ends Today

    machine month

I’m pleased to report that Machine Month comes to a close today. We’ve been logging major hours at the day job plus doing the creative work and keeping you entertained throughout the week here on this blog and elsewhere.

    I’m tired.

Four-day weekend starting tomorrow. I plan to recharge and get a certain book out to you.

    I have a plan.

    Stay tuned.

    blog updates

If you’ve been reading my newsletter, you’ll know I’ve been making changes to this blog behind the scenes by way of updating things page by page, entry by entry. There was a lot of coding that went into a lot of the original entries that is now obsolete and is hurting the site, so I’ve been working slowly but surely on correcting those issues.

Thus far, I’ve completed three sections:

The Book and Comic Shop (which looks the same upon entry but when you click on a title, the title’s page is different)

    Self-publishing Articles

    Book Reviews

More to go, but I was also not using old coding when I got this site back up and running in 2019 so, generally speaking, the remaining adjustments, though a lot, isn’t a total site revamp or anything. Just fine-tuning and tweaking.

Hope you like the new pages as I got about these blog updates.

  • Hotwheels Muscle Car Shorts and Reels No. 3

    Hot Wheels Logo

It’s been a very long while since I did a Hotwheels muscle mania muscle car showcase on this blog so here are some muscle car shorts.

Here are three awesome muscle cars to take a gander at. Frankly, I think muscle cars are one of the best-looking cars on the market. Some simple yet powerful about them. It’s a dream to own one but I need to sell more books and comics to do that.

    One thing at a time.

    Enjoy!

  • Project Blog Site Adjustment

    Project Blog Site Adjustment

    project blog site adjustment

So if you read last weekend’s edition of THE CANISTER X TRANSMISSION, it was revealed that I spent last week working on this website behind the scenes while I wait on the editor for AXIOM-MAN/CRIMSON CLOAK: SCARLET SYNERGY and for my [hopeful] blurb for CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS. (The latter is presently airing on Patreon.)

This is an old site. If you’ve been with me even for just the past 5 or 6 years, you know a lot of content has been put up here. And as good as that is–because I want you guys to have content–technology and software is changing all the time (as we all know) so there are parts of this site on the interface side of things where all this content is produced that needs updating and adjustment.

I’ve managed to create an organized workflow to get it done and thus far have altered the Book and Comic Shop and the titles therein (plus a few other page tweeks). If you check it out, you’ll notice the book pages are laid out differently than before. This was a move to get rid of some old, unnecessary coding that, while it worked for a while, could have been better in terms of title presentation so that’s what I did: Made the book pages pretty just for you. Awww.

So you might notice over the next bit slight modifications to this site in terms of appearance. I like this blog site the way it is in terms of having the columns with the books and other bonuses along the sides with the main content in the middle. Keeps the fun stuff easily accessible while you peruse the content down the center.

Anyway, website-wise, that’s what’s been going down. It’s a bit of a big project on the whole but easy to manage when broken into chunks.

I look forward to having it done within the next month or so. It’s kind of a pick-at project so will take some time.

    Cheers.
