    Axiom-man: Rumblings Book Spotlight

    Rumblings title card thumbnail

One night Gabriel Garrison was visited by a nameless messenger who bestowed upon him great power, a power intended for good. Once discovering what this power was and what it enabled him to do, Gabriel became Axiom-man, a symbol of hope in a city that had none.

Axiom-man has been captured and locked inside an enormous electric cage. Within? A small city and residential zone. Who made them or for what purpose, he doesn’t know. One thing is certain, however: he is trapped and at the mercy of those who took him captive.

The intentions are soon made clear with the appearance of two super-powered beings: the tank-like Battle Bruiser and the playful femme fatale Lady Fire. Soon the battle begins and Axiom-man is forced to survive against those with powers that rival his own. And it seems these two new metahumans are only the beginning. Something is brewing beneath the surface of reality, something sinister that will change the course of history and Axiom-man’s life forever.

    Something is rumbling.

  • The Way of the Fog and Still About a Girl Returning to Life

The Way of the Fog and Still About a Girl Returning to Life

Way of the Fog and Still About a Girl

A long time ago I wrote an epic fantasy (253k words) called THE WAY OF THE FOG: VOLUME ONE OF THE ARK OF LIGHT. It came out in hardcover only. That hardcover is returning. As for paperback and eBook versions, I’ll have to figure something out because the core files were lost in The Great Computer Crash of 2010. I have some ideas on how to recover the files, but it’ll take some time.

As well, my poetry book, STILL A ABOUT A GIRL, is returning to print. It was my third poetry collection and came out early in my career. No reason to not have it out there again. It’s a collection of poems about love and loss and how it changes you.

Stay tuned for more news as these projects return.

In the meantime, lots of books to choose from both here and at Amazon to keep you reading company. Thanks.

  • ZOMTROPOLIS Update: Synopsis

    ZOMTROPOLIS Update: Synopsis

    Zomtropolis Art Partial
    Zomtropolis Cover Art (partial image)

    Here’s the ZOMTROPOLIS update:

So far we are on track to get this puppy to bed by this weekend (or sooner). After that, it’s just an issue of the computers doing their thing to get the book out into the world. An official launch will occur once the book starts popping up on online vendors in both paperback and eBook.

Here’s the first draft of the synopsis, subject to adjustment:

She Came Back into His Life

    Only to Die on Him

Marty loved Selena. Maybe too much so, but after their breakup, everything went to hell, including the world around him. Now, alone in a zombie-infested city, Marty must come to terms with what’s happened both to his heart and to the world around him.

The journal begins and is transmitted to you while he deals with the past, the present, even the future, including the woman who tore his heart out and has come back into his life again. Except, she keeps dying on him and returning from the dead.

Is all slipping? Have too many nights with the bottle messed with his brain? Or is Marty simply falling apart because the world has died?

Or, maybe, it’s because Selena keeps dying on him but keeps coming back into his arms.

This transmission is a record of life in a dead city.

    Hope, loss, pain.

    The undead.

    Welcome to Zomtropolis.

One night Gabriel Garrison was visited by a nameless messenger who bestowed upon him great power, a power intended for good. Once discovering what this power was and what it enabled him to do, Gabriel became Axiom-man, a symbol of hope in a city that had none.

The city is under siege and people are dying. Brutal murders are being conducted from the shadows, with always one survivor deliberately left to tell the tale. And all are saying the same thing: Axiom-man has gone rogue.

Now wanted by the law, Axiom-man must find out who is masquerading as him and destroying the reputation and trust he has strived so hard to build, while at the same time flying beneath the radar in a city where everyone is looking for him.

Soon the city is locked down and death stalks Axiom-man at every turn as the Special Force Unit and the Winnipeg Police try and bring him to justice while he fights to clear his name against an enemy who will stop at nothing to destroy him.

    Status Report – 101723:

ZOMTROPOLIS: A RECORD OF LIFE IN A DEAD CITY is back from the editor therefore now it’s my turn to do go over the edits then do one final pass before book production and press time. As of now, we’re on track for a Halloween-ish release.

You guys are gonna love this tale. It’s been in the works since 2008. One of my “eventual books” though it originally was never intended as such but, alas, life happens and projects get set aside so other things can be born. Since 2008, obviously, I written and drawn a lot of stuff, but it was time to finally finish ZOMTROPOLIS and here we are.

Stay tuned for more news as this project develops.

In other news, we’re just working and establishing a strong foundation for PROJECT REBUILD 2.0. Been at it for a few months now and it’s paying off.

More thought is being given to the new Patreon page and how I’ll approach it from a content angle and how I’ll be able to pull it off without burning out.

Like the above, more news as this develops.

Lastly, I just finished a freelance editing project for a client. In other words, I’m open for business so if you need an editor, a formatter, or a book cover designer, I’m your man. Tons of experience. Details here.

Okay, time to get back to work.

    Until next time.

This has been your Status Report for 101723.

One night Gabriel Garrison was visited by a nameless messenger who bestowed upon him great power, a power intended for good. Once discovering what this power was and what it enabled him to do, Gabriel became Axiom-man, a symbol of hope in a city that had none.

After exploring the city’s underground in order to get a better feel for the criminal fraternity, Gabriel—under the guise of “Mike”—meets a young woman—Katie—who is more than what she seems. What first starts out as a night of mere surveillance and intelligence-gathering soon forces Gabriel to re-examine his approach to crime fighting, discover his strengths and shortcomings, all while trying to keep up with Katie, who is bent on seeing through her own private crusade.
With danger lurking at every turn and Gabriel being forced to keep his identity—and abilities—as Axiom-man a secret, he soon discovers he isn’t the only one hiding something. There are other players at work in the city, those who would soon misuse a secret weapon for their own purposes.

As the clock ticks down and the violence escalates, Gabriel must try and recover the weapon while also keeping Katie safe.

If he can keep up with her, that is.
