Authortube: My Book is Not Selling! What Do I Do? | Part One: Encouragement
You’ve done all you can. You wrote the book to the best of your ability, you got an editor to correction some issues, you got a fancy book cover, and solid distribution.
Yet your book is not selling, or not selling in the amount you want. What do you do? How can this be fixed? Surely must be a way to move copies.
What am I doing wrong? You might ask yourself.
The following video, part one of a series, might be of help. Step one: Encouragement.
Publishing Books: The First Half of 2024 in Review
Since we’re at the halfway mark of 2024, I thought this would be a good time to review what’s been published this year so far. Link to book page in the descriptions, but this is where we stand so far in publishing books this year.
There will be a publishing gap until later in the fall. There might be one thing, but that’s in floating status at the moment. The work is done. Just an issue of assembly.
AXIOM-MAN/CRIMSON CLOAK: SCARLET SYNERGY:
Surrounded by a strange red mist, Axiom-man finds himself in a world not his own. Not again. Meeting a man who calls himself the Crimson Cloak, Axiom-man and this red stranger must fight their way through a hotel of madness where each new floor brings on a deadly challenge. Go to book page.
CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS: POETRY COLLECTION:
All right, World, this is how it’s going to be: Rhymes and verse, Melodies rehearsed, across life’s rocky sea. Read a poem, maybe two, pick three if you wish to dare. Ramblings and coherence, sometimes jots of incoherence, anything for poetic flare. Enjoy and explore, please do, I implore. Let’s talk about life bizarre ’cause it’s pretty complex stuff, said Harvey Pekar. Go to book page.

Running from June 2020 to March 2024, readers received news straight from A.P. Fuchs’s bunker studio at Axiom-man Central that was meant to engage, entertain, and have some fun. Go to book page.

A lot of authors feel overwhelmed when it comes to book cover creation. Whether you hire it out or do it yourself, you know that a good cover will potentially lead to a book’s success. In this video, 25-year self-publisher A.P. Fuchs reveals the one word that makes or breaks a book cover. One word with three parts. Watch and see. It’s very simple. If you use this one word as your engine for your cover, you will have a good cover.
Authortube: Open Letter to All Scammers, Spammers, and Solictors of Services
This video letter is speaking on behalf of myself and thousands of other authors around the world. We are sick and tired of you spamming our book announcements and threads with solicitation of services we can easily do ourselves.
Two words: Stop it.
Another two words: Grow up.
You are not a professional. You are a scammer for anyone who spams scams. Period.
Please share this video if you’re an author/creator and feel the same.
Today’s we’re off to the races, er, to press to put the soon-to-be-released CAUGHT AND BLACK HEADLIGHTS into the publishing machine.

Those who know me know I’ve been publishing independently since 2004, before it was all the craze.
Along the way, I learned a few things and I’ve shared them here on this site. Here are a few of them to get you started:
Can You Just Start A Publishing Company? This article takes a look at the concept of just coming up with a name for your publishing house then publishing right away and how that’s not how things work.
A lot of time and thought has been put into the essays and articles I post on Patreon for my patrons to help the creators there boost their arts career.
These articles and essays aren’t available anywhere else online except for patrons. Definitely worth the read even if you drop in for just a month.
