It is true.

It is time.

Patreon 2.0 launches this November 13. I’m aiming to premiere the trailer Sunday evening then do a full-blast posting Monday to launch the page and invite one and all into the PATREON REALM OF HEROES AND MONSTERS.

There are two tiers and they’ll be displayed in full on launch day, but to sum them up, they are:

Tip Jar: $1. Just a general tip to help me along in the art world with my deepest thanks.

All-Access: $5. For just five bucks a month you get everything content that I put on the Web plus the following just for you:

Artwork only revealed here. Nowhere else. Public art is here.

Learn what goes on behind the scenes in bringing you books, comics, art, podcasts, videos, and more. (This is stuff I don’t talk about or show openly.)

Entertaining and/or informative videos made only for patrons.

It began with GIGANTI-GATOR DEATH MACHINE and continues with TWO other running serials.

Photos taken EXCLUSIVELY for this page. Sometimes I add my own sparkle, other times not, but they’re always interesting.

Quick little notes or did-you-knows just for you.

Usually bits of info that are hopefully insightful or useful.

For those interested in the craft of storytelling through various mediums, both the creative side and the business side.

Like the Quick Notes, these are intended to be helpful.

Caught in Black Headlights: An In-between Book?

ZOMTROPOLIS is gonna be out soon and then I’ll be neck-deep in THE AXIOM-MAN SAGA writing three books for that before releasing them so my readers know for certain the story arc I’ll be doing will done and complete in 2024.

I’ve been picking away at CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS for years. It’s a poetry book, my fourth thus far. Poems about life, observation, some feelings. Trying something new with my poetry style. I think what’s going to end up happening is I’ll be airing CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS at Patreon 2.0 as in-between book, a pre-online publication alongside ZOMTROPOLIS, which is being serialized there.

All really depends how much I have to say because poetry is about saying something, hopefully something with meaning and some sort of impact.

We’ll see.

In the interim, STILL ABOUT A GIRL is coming back out so you can get your poetry fix through that in the meantime.

The Way of the Fog and Still About a Girl Returning to Life

A long time ago I wrote an epic fantasy (253k words) called THE WAY OF THE FOG: VOLUME ONE OF THE ARK OF LIGHT. It came out in hardcover only. That hardcover is returning. As for paperback and eBook versions, I’ll have to figure something out because the core files were lost in The Great Computer Crash of 2010. I have some ideas on how to recover the files, but it’ll take some time.

As well, my poetry book, STILL A ABOUT A GIRL, is returning to print. It was my third poetry collection and came out early in my career. No reason to not have it out there again. It’s a collection of poems about love and loss and how it changes you.

Stay tuned for more news as these projects return.

ZOMTROPOLIS Update: Synopsis

Here’s the ZOMTROPOLIS update:

So far we are on track to get this puppy to bed by this weekend (or sooner). After that, it’s just an issue of the computers doing their thing to get the book out into the world. An official launch will occur once the book starts popping up on online vendors in both paperback and eBook.

Here’s the first draft of the synopsis, subject to adjustment:

She Came Back into His Life

Only to Die on Him

Marty loved Selena. Maybe too much so, but after their breakup, everything went to hell, including the world around him. Now, alone in a zombie-infested city, Marty must come to terms with what’s happened both to his heart and to the world around him.

The journal begins and is transmitted to you while he deals with the past, the present, even the future, including the woman who tore his heart out and has come back into his life again. Except, she keeps dying on him and returning from the dead.

Is all slipping? Have too many nights with the bottle messed with his brain? Or is Marty simply falling apart because the world has died?

Or, maybe, it’s because Selena keeps dying on him but keeps coming back into his arms.

This transmission is a record of life in a dead city.

Hope, loss, pain.

The undead.

Just for fun, below are two YouTube videos. One is my most-watched video on YouTube, the second is my least watched.

(Yes, we’re on a video kick here at The Central. Maybe give that second one some love?)

However, I made a small caveat in presenting these. Obviously, a super recent video is going to have much less views than a video that’s been sitting around on the Web for a few years so I went back in time to the archives and pulled out the least-watched video around the time of the most-watched one.

Canister X Mailbag – Double Pair of Blue Light Glasses Unboxing – Oct182023

I stare at screens for the majority of my day and by the end of it, my eyes hurt. Sure, it could be I need to see an optometrist, but I’m pretty sure it’s the constant light in your eyes from staring at a screen for hours on end. Further, it exacerbates the issue when you’re looking at something dark then suddenly switch to something bright and back and forth.

Here’s hoping these blue light glasses will help ease the eyestrain. Oh, there’s a mini teaser for a collectible short in this video. I accidentally made it obvious but oh well.

Status Report – 101723

Status Report – 101723:

ZOMTROPOLIS: A RECORD OF LIFE IN A DEAD CITY is back from the editor therefore now it’s my turn to do go over the edits then do one final pass before book production and press time. As of now, we’re on track for a Halloween-ish release.

You guys are gonna love this tale. It’s been in the works since 2008. One of my “eventual books” though it originally was never intended as such but, alas, life happens and projects get set aside so other things can be born. Since 2008, obviously, I written and drawn a lot of stuff, but it was time to finally finish ZOMTROPOLIS and here we are.

Stay tuned for more news as this project develops.

In other news, we’re just working and establishing a strong foundation for PROJECT REBUILD 2.0. Been at it for a few months now and it’s paying off.

More thought is being given to the new Patreon page and how I’ll approach it from a content angle and how I’ll be able to pull it off without burning out.

Like the above, more news as this develops.

Lastly, I just finished a freelance editing project for a client. In other words, I’m open for business so if you need an editor, a formatter, or a book cover designer, I’m your man. Tons of experience. Details here.
