Canister X Mailbag – Black Playing Cards Unboxing – 02072024
Well, we got sucked back into the world of TEMU and got ourselves some playing cards on the cheap, and since specialized playing cards usually cost you your eye, these were deals I couldn’t pass up.
Into black? Then these black playing cards are for you. Well, they’re for me but we’ll pretend to share over the Interwebs.

Canister X Mailbag – Neck Massager, Display Stand, and Gold Playing Cards Unboxing – 02072024
We experimented with a new online vendor for some affordable necessities. The store is called Temu, a place to get things at a severe discount but also reliable service and ease of use. We checked the reviews of the app before purchasing and the reviews held up so we took a shot in the dark . . . and the shot came back with what I ordered.
Please enjoy this “experimental” unboxing video.

I started a kind of Twitter/X channel that focuses on my hotwheels shorts and reels. You get a video every hour on the hour from 6AM to 6PM CST, daily. It’s a bit of a social media experiment that could lead to other efforts marketing my books and comics. Experimenting is good. Remember the rule: Keep what works, discard what doesn’t.
I hope you join this new Hotwheels Twitter / X Video Feed and follow along. You can also subscribe to regular Hotwheels shorts and reels directly on my YouTube channel.

As you might have guessed–because I’ve been blatantly obvious–I spent a good chunk of 2023 beefing up my YouTube channel in an effort to 1) Play in another medium 2) Put some eyeballs on my books and comics 3) Entertain or inform you as best as I am able.
We did not bad and had growing stats week by week. Sure, there were some dips in the analytics but you can’t hit the ball out of the park every time.
Below is a newly-curated list of my playlists on YouTube. It’d be really great if you subscribed to one that strikes your fancy. Part of the goal with this whole YouTube thing is to use it as a funding channel–which costs my viewers nothing other than 2 seconds to click subscribe–so I can more easily bring you more books and comics and other entertainment. If you haven’t already subscribed to the channel, please do so. It really does help out an independent creator like me make ends meet.
Here are the playlists on my channel in no particular order as we embark into 2024.
Enjoy!

As much as I like to support the little guy, sometimes you have to go to the big chains for your collectibles, and during this trip, we did find a couple things I haven’t seen anywhere else.
Let’s go!

Fuchs talks about this second phase of his journey here on YouTube and what it’s really all about by citing Harvey Pekar and his work with AMERICAN SPLENDOR. Bottom line: It’s about being down-to-Earth and revealing everyday life. It’s about relating to viewers. It’s about the audience and one man’s effort to connect on some level with whomever tunes in.
Watch.

Fred the Dog in Once Upon a Weiner (Storyboard Video 2000 VHS)
Prior to animating, and after the script, the story needs to be blocked out via storyboards before the drawing phase of cartooning. I did my best to time the storyboards with the cartoon so you could see how the layout worked on the final product. You can also see how some of the colors changed for the backgrounds and what was included in the storyboards and what was not.
The captions beneath the storyboards might go by too quick to read but, again, I was trying to time the storyboards with the cartoon itself so feel free to pause where need to read the storyboards.
Anyway, this is some behind-the-scenes stuff for you and a bit about what goes into making a cartoon.
Enjoy.

Just for fun, below are two YouTube videos. One is my most-watched video on YouTube, the second is my least watched.
(Yes, we’re on a video kick here at The Central. Maybe give that second one some love?)
However, I made a small caveat in presenting these. Obviously, a super recent video is going to have much less views than a video that’s been sitting around on the Web for a few years so I went back in time to the archives and pulled out the least-watched video around the time of the most-watched one.
Anyway, yeah. This is just for fun. Enjoy!
