    Herald Article Apr. 20, 2017
Prairie Superhero Companions – Axiom-man/Auroraman: Frozen Storm Kickstarter

Today, the citizens of Winnipeg found out about the Axiom-man/Auroraman: Frozen Storm Kickstarter via The Herald, a weekly newspaper. The city also found out what’s coming up for Axiom-man and the plans I have not just for him, but for the city as well.

Thank you to reporter Sheldon Birnie for latching onto the news story and writing such a fantastic article.

The article can be read on-line at the Winnipeg Free Press‘s website here.

Also, please consider pledging to support Axiom-man/Auroraman: Frozen Storm. The Kickstarter wraps May 4 and Auroraman creator, Jeff Burton, and I need your help. You can check out the Kickstarter here, which is packed with amazing reward tiers and all sorts of goodies. As well, feel free to share this blog post or link to the Kickstarter however you can.

Thank you in advance for any and all support.

    Axiom-man/Auroraman Kickstarter Page

The Axiom-man/Auroraman: Frozen Storm Kickstarter has fired off the launch pad and is already off to a crazy phenomenal start. Thank you to everyone who’s pledged support to these two prairie heroes. You’re going to be in for one heck of a ride.

This Kickstarter supports not only Frozen Storm, but also The Adventures of Auroraman No. 1!

I co-wrote the mini comic at the back of Auroraman No. 1 that will lead into Frozen Storm, a superhero novel with action and suspense start to finish. Fans of The Axiom-man Saga won’t want to miss out on this adventure.

It’s been a pleasure working with Jeff Burton on this project and I can’t wait to share with you the story we concocted for Frozen Storm.

    Two superheroes. One icy threat.

To back the Kickstarter, please go here.

Thank you so much from Jeff and I in advance for your support.

  • Axiom-man Fan Art and Kickstarter News!

Posted on March 4, 2017 10:08 pm by A.P. Fuchs

There are days in this business where things get tough and you wonder why even bother with all this stuff? It doesn’t matter how successful you are. Every writer hits that wall of “what’s the point?” and then has to deal with it. Then stuff like this comes into your inbox and you’re reminded your work isn’t just about you and there are people out there who genuinely care about what you do.

Below is a piece of fan art from Axiom-man superfan Movies, Comics, and MTG. Below that is a video he made about Axiom-man and the upcoming Axiom-man/Auroraman: Frozen Storm Kickstarter.

A special thank you to Movies, Comics, and MTG for these. They made my day at a time when I needed a boost.

  • What is Coming Up in 2017

Posted on December 30, 2016 9:23 pm by A.P. Fuchs

    A.P. Fuchs 2017

    I commit to nothing.

    Bwahahaha.

    Post over.

    Kidding.

However, I meant the above: I commit to nothing.

Instead of doing the usual writer shtick of announcing what projects are coming out and when, I’m simply going to announce them as I complete them.

There are only three confirmed titles coming from me in 2017 thus far. They have already been announced on this blog, but I will mention them again and mention why I know they are guaranteed to be released.

The Canister X Transmission: Year Three – This is being written week-to-week and, like Years One and Two, the collections have been published within a couple of months of that newsletter’s year having ended.

Untitled Flash Fiction Collection – This is part of the Year Three experience, so each week a new piece of flash fiction is sent out to readers. A total of 60 pieces of flash fiction will comprise this collection–52 from the weekly newsletter, a 53rd from the collected edition of the newsletter–and the remainder to be written afterward.

Axiom-man and Auroraman: Frozen Storm – This is a novel I will be writing for a kickstarter project that begins in March. Since it’s being kickstarted, and assuming Auroraman creator Jeff Burton and I hit our goal, this book will be published on time for backers.

Regarding Secret Project No. 1 and Secret Project No. 3–projects mentioned in my newsletter–they will be announced upon completion. What about Secret Project No. 2, you ask? Since it ties directly into Secret Project No. 1, I can’t say anything about it just yet.

As for other works in various stages of finishing, same deal: they will be announced upon completion.

    Commit to nothing.

I have also restructured my 2017 on-line marketing efforts and just today finished automating the whole year. There will be some manual posts but the rest will be the social media bots doing my bidding.

Your best bet in keeping up-to-date on things is by regularly checking this blog or subscribing to my newsletter.

Have a safe and Happy New Year.

    See you in 2017.

  • Axiom-man: Tenth Anniversary Special Edition

Posted on October 24, 2016 3:01 pm by A.P. Fuchs
    Axiom-man Tenth-Year Anniversary Special Edition

    Axiom-man: Tenth Anniversary Special Edition

One night, Gabriel Garrison was visited by a nameless messenger who bestowed upon him great power, a power intended for good. Once discovering what this power was and what it enabled him to do, Gabriel became Axiom-man, a symbol of hope in a city that had none.

One night, after a routine patrol, a mysterious black cloud appears over the city. Flying over to investigate it, Axiom-man is stopped short when the cloud’s presence shakes him to the core. An electrifying fear emanates from the cloud, and he can barely get near it. Quickly, the cloud takes flight and leads him on a wild goose chase throughout the city, only to flee from him in the end. Almost immediately after the cloud’s appearance, a new hero arises, Redsaw, clad in a black cape and cowl. The people, now enamored with this new super-powered marvel, seem to have forgotten about Axiom-man and all he’s done for them.

Except something’s wrong. That same fear that emanated from the cloud drips off Redsaw like a foul smell and Axiom-man can barely get close to him without feeling ill.

What is Redsaw’s agenda and who is he? And why is it every time Axiom-man gets close to him, it feels as if his powers are being sucked away?

As if that wasn’t enough, Gabriel’s day job hasn’t gotten any easier. His co-worker and the woman he adores, Valerie Vaughan, has little interest in him, and his boss has made it clear that one more day late to work will be the day he cleans out his desk. Then there’s the new trainee, Gene Nemek. What is his fascination with Redsaw, and why is he never around when Redsaw appears?

From flying over city streets and soaring at dizzying heights, to balancing a secret identity with destiny, Axiom-man must discover what Redsaw’s presence means and how it ties into the messenger’s life-altering visit before the city—and the world—are enamored with an evil that has haunted the cosmos since the dawn of time.

This newly-revised special edition includes an introduction by the author, a bonus short story that takes place right after the novel, and the essay, “The Axiom-man Origin and Why I Write Superhero Fiction.”

  • Axiom-man Revision Underway

Posted on June 28, 2016 4:50 pm by A.P. Fuchs

axiommandrivethruI’m a great deal through revising the original Axiom-man novel and prepping it for the 10th-anniversary special edition that’s coming out in the fall.

It’s like going back in time. Not only do I get to revisit the story, but I also get to revisit myself because it was written when I was 25 and still new at this writing game. I was a very different writer back then so my mission with the revision isn’t to do a complete overhaul, but maintain the voice of that 25-year-old while updating the text to match the writer I am now.

The special edition will not only contain the revised version of the story, but a lot of bonus material, too, which will be revealed at a later date.

Whether you’re new reader or have been following The Axiom-man Saga since the beginning, this is a book you’ll want to add to your collection once it’s released.
