I’ve always been a collector of various things so shot this video for you showcasing my Superman: Man of Steel toy collection that lines the walls of my studio with my other figures. There’s something about having all those figures side by side on display that gets me excited and strikes inspiration.

Welcome to my Inktober 2019 Artwork Video Showcase!
As promised, here is the video showcasing this year’s Inktober efforts.
My Ello account has also been updated to show the three collages created from 31 drawings.
Inktober was completed on schedule, with 31 ink sketches done in 31 days at a rate of one per day. Images were shared each day on social media, with Instagram being where I uploaded them.
It was my first year doing it and I had a blast.

My new business cards–printed by Vistaprint–came in along with return address labels for stuff shipping out of Axiom-man Central among other purposes. Take a look at this unboxing video showcase to see the new cards.
Business cards are critical in the art world and I’ve been using them in one way or another since I published my first book back in 2003. I might have even had some before then. I can’t remember. Regardless, it still surprises me when I meet creators at conventions and they don’t have a card so I can follow up with them. Business cards are Publishing 101 so if you don’t have some of your own for whatever you do, better get going on that.

This week I started a new notebook and aptly labeled its contents. It’s a project that I hinted at here. What it is specifically, I will keep under wraps for now. I want to make some decent headway into it before formally announcing it.
Secret Project No. 4–also known as Project Jackass–is a means for me to get some honesty on the page and have a near anything-goes kind of fun in my creative work. Not that my other stuff isn’t fun, but this particular project is about raw honesty and, as I’ve been known to say, honesty is the backbone of creativity. It’s the creator’s duty to be honest regardless of their craft.
There’s an element of catharsis that will no doubt go into it. It’s been a brutal season of life for me and I’ve only been out of it for about six and a half months. Getting it down on paper in a creative/showcase kind of way will help clear the remaining cobwebs and help me move forward.
Here we go.
As part of expanding my on-line creative showcase, I have added an Artwork tab to the menu above. Currently, it’s a work-in-progress and will be updated when new items are created. Right now it is in three sections to depict the areas of art displayed: Lineart, Shadows, and Mixed Media.

On May 7 from 10 – 5pm I’ll be at Galaxy Comics here in Winnipeg as part of their annual local creator showcase that takes place on Free Comic Book Day. This will be the third year they’re doing it and a third time for me.
Some local creator friends will also be there, but I don’t have the final list so can’t share, unfortunately. Regardless, it’ll be a good time. It’s a nice intimate setting. I was told maybe 8-10 tables, so a mini-con, in a way. We’ll be on the upstairs level of the store.
