vLog – One-Stop Funko Pop! Shop

Join me as we go shopping for Funko Pops! at our very favorite toy store, Toys ‘R’ Us!

What pops did we see? We saw superheroes, Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel, She-Hulk, Rhonda Rousey, wrestling Funko Pops, Indiana Jones, Star Wars, Shazam, the Flash, the Simpsons, the Mystery Machine, Catwoman, Geoffery the Toys ‘R’ Us mascot as Robin, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and so much more!

Lots of pops to see, lots to browse. I tried to cover the highlights of what was on the shelf. Hope I brought the ones you wanted to see to the fore as we looked along.

And, hey, I got to take a Funko Pop! home with me so it was successful trip.

Realm of Heroes and Monsters YouTube Playlist Index

As you might have guessed–because I’ve been blatantly obvious–I spent a good chunk of 2023 beefing up my YouTube channel in an effort to 1) Play in another medium 2) Put some eyeballs on my books and comics 3) Entertain or inform you as best as I am able.

We did not bad and had growing stats week by week. Sure, there were some dips in the analytics but you can’t hit the ball out of the park every time.

Below is a newly-curated list of my playlists on YouTube. It’d be really great if you subscribed to one that strikes your fancy. Part of the goal with this whole YouTube thing is to use it as a funding channel–which costs my viewers nothing other than 2 seconds to click subscribe–so I can more easily bring you more books and comics and other entertainment. If you haven’t already subscribed to the channel, please do so. It really does help out an independent creator like me make ends meet.

This Christmas, the Man of Steel made his presence very clear in my home. I think it’s because the Fortress of Solitude is only about two kliks away from the North Pole and Santa’s workshop. We have clearance, Clarence. What’s your vector, Victor? And now we have a writer rider. Yes, I’m well aware my form and skill on horseback needs a lot of work, but I only ride once a year–twice, if I’m lucky–so overall, Bell and I did not too bad.

Have a laugh at my expense as I almost fall off the horse at the beginning of the video.

vLog – The Lord of the Rings vs The Dark Tower (Hollywood, Listen Up!)

On this day of Festivus, my head wandered into Stephen King territory and I started thinking about how a proper adaption of THE DARK TOWER series has not yet been done. There’s been talks for years but, ultimately, fans have never received the entire series in film. In this video I compare THE LORD OF THE RINGS to THE DARK TOWER in terms of an opinionated approach as to how to tackle such an immense project. It all comes down to one word . . . which you’ll have to watch to find out. (I’m the worst, I know.)

Ultimately, however, I do think we owe Stephen King some gratitude after all he’s done for the literary world and pop culture in general.

Ever since I heard the FULL JUSTICE LEAGUE movie was going to be on HBO Max, I had to get in on it because I wanted to see what Zack Snyder originally intended for our DC heroes. Man, was it worth getting a temp subscription for it. Now I own it.

PSA: Breast Cancer Awareness Superman Funko Pop! It’s a cause near to my heart so I kindly ask you to donate to its research when or where able. Cancer on its own is a beast and needs to be defeated.
