Things are already underway in terms of 2024’s event schedule. Winnipeg Comic Con is on the list and I’m going to look into FanQuest. As well, plans are slowly in motion for an out-of-town convention in Saskatchewan. I need to consult with my SK creators as to what show(s) they’re doing and which would be the best one to table at.
I might attempt a couple local book signings at the old bookshop but those won’t be for a bit yet. It’s been a long while since I signed at a bookstore.
Announcements will be made as things are locked down. So right we’re in the planning stages for conventions and book signings 2024.
Yesterday marked the end of summer for me thus the end of my easier summer schedule. Today I’m preparing the fall one. Lots going on in the fall in terms of book production and releases as well as two comic convention appearances.
As a reminder, I will be at the following events so mark your calendars. I’ll have books for sale and you can bring copies from home for signature, if you’d like. I do not charge for autographs or pictures.
Winnipeg Comiccon – October 28 to 30, 2022 – RBC Convention Centre (Winnipeg) FanQuest – November 12 & 13, 2022 – Norwood Community Centre (Winnipeg)
Part of prepping for these appearances is ensuring I have enough book stock to take along with me so I’ve been slowly going through what I have and setting up an order at the printer for what I need. As long as my print order is in by the end of the month, that will allow enough time for printing and shipping.
I’ve also been reevaluating current and upcoming work in terms of what I reveal to the public about these projects. How many times have I said such-and-such will be ready for such-and-such a date and it hasn’t been? Sure, part of it had to do with me being ill. Another part had to do with summer. Another part had to do with my own disorganization. You’d think after all these years of doing this that I’d have this down to a science. But, again, in the big picture, being ill and spending a long time doing a webcomic would slow things down in terms of release(s).
I have confirmation that author Melinda Marshall and I will be tabling at the following shows –
FanQuest – November 12 & 13, 2022 – Norwood Community Centre (Winnipeg)
Winnipeg Comiccon – October 28 to 30, 2022 – RBC Convention Centre (Winnipeg)
I do not charge for pictures or autographs.
As well, I’m firing my newsletter back up. It’s called THE CANISTER X TRANSMISSION and you can subscribe and get a free e-novelette by going here. New issue is written and will go out Saturday.
This notice is to inform you that FanQuest 2020 has been postponed due to coronavirus concerns as the City of Winnipeg has suspended all festival and event permits until the end of June. Some suggestions are being batted around on FanQuest‘s end regarding either a make-up date or skipping this year or something else. When I know more, I will keep everyone posted.
Apologies for any inconvenience. Hopefully FanQuest 2020 will still happen somehow.
Ps. Today, the latest chapter of Gigantigator Death Machine hit Patreon! In this episode, Dave finds himself in the water. Most of the book is now uploaded. Read this latest chapter and the archives for just a buck by joining my Patreon journey here. Thank you in advance for your support.
I’m pleased to announce I’ll be attending FanQuest in June in Winnipeg (specific dates still being determined; please keep an eye on my Convention and Book Signing Schedule for them). You’ll find me tabling there with author Melinda Marshall. I’ll bring loads of monster and superhero books and art for you to check out and enjoy.
FanQuest is a newish show. I think I’ve tabled it twice in the past. Regardless, it’s good times.
I will be tabling at the first-ever FanQuest here in Winnipeg, “created by fans, for fans,” as per their tagline.
The show runs May 26-28 at the University of Winnipeg in Riddell Hall.
Should be a lot of fun.
I’m going to be tabling small at this convention so that’s going to be an interesting experience, too. My main focus will be superhero and monster stuff as opposed to bringing everything. Might bring some art prints for sale as well.
