Here we are with another vLog updating you all on my YouTube Journey. It seems good practice to do this even if just in the interest of archiving. It’s nice to have a record of how this channel has changed and grown over time and what you as a viewer can expect.
In this video we discuss updates since the last YouTube journey video and talk a bit about how the channel has morphed into one with some set programming on certain days.
I plan to iron out the programming part a bit more so you know which day of the week is what, but in the meantime, we’re doing pretty good with the following:
Live Stream No. 4: Winnipeg Comic Con 2024 Artist Alley Tour!
Join author and artist A.P. Fuchs live at Winnipeg Comic Con 2024 as he takes through a tour of Artist Alley. Starting off at his table then eventually circling back, this tour offers a wonderful insight into the various artists and writers who were at the show entertaining the public. You also get to see some other neat items folks had up for sale. Even a few smiled and waved at the camera. Winnipeg is loaded with friendly creators.
Supporting the independent arts is important. It not only gives you a piece of entertainment, but it gives the creator a boost as well to keep on going and making stuff for you.
Check everything from superheroes to horror to independent comics and creators, to authors and books, and, of course, some fun Pop Culture fandom.

This book was a hot seller at the show and Melinda put a lot of work into it. The miracle of this book is the first draft was written in three days as part of a novel writing contest. Of course, it went through revisions and edits after, but getting a first draft out in three days is an impressive feat.
Listen to Melinda as she discusses her new book that debuted at the convention and found its way into many readers’ hands.

THE TYPHON PROJECT (Dystopian YA) by Melinda Marshall:

CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS (Poetry) by A.P. Fuchs:
All right, World, this is how it’s going to be: Rhymes and verse, Melodies rehearsed, across life’s rocky sea. Read a poem, maybe two, pick three if you wish to dare. Ramblings and coherence, sometimes jots of incoherence, anything for poetic flare. Enjoy and explore, please do, I implore. Let’s talk about life bizarre ’cause it’s pretty complex stuff, said Harvey Pekar.
Authortube: AI Writing and Art is Stealing, End of Story
The video based on this article. Please share this important message.
As writers and artists, it’s either we speak up now or we screw ourselves going forward. This is my effort to speak up. Up to you regarding what you do but I strongly urge you to start making noise right away because otherwise the next thing you’ll know, the publishing industry will be even more doomed than it is already is.
Authortube: My Book is Not Selling! What Do I Do? | Part Three: The Copycat Method
This particular method of book marketing is very effective because it allows you to take what works and apply it to your own projects. The copycat method is just like it sounds: Copy.
All marketing is based on the copy principle. The “how to copy” is different depending on what you’re marketing, but in this case, we’re talking books and comics–though the principle applies to any product–and how to take things to the next level as you market your book.
Watch this video to find out how to go about it and how to execute the Copycat Method. I won’t lie. It will take some work, but it will be worth it in the end.
vLog – Action Figure Shopping Trip Toy Haul (and more Hotwheels)
There was one particular item I was after this trip to Dollarama and that was getting Princess Buttercup. I have the Dread Pirate Roberts and he needed his princess. We also happened across a few other goodies at a couple other local places, namely the Toony Comic Superman for cheaper than Amazon (who screwed up the order thrice) and a Wave 1 Super Powers Flash action figure. Then, of course, hotwheels because them diecast cars are what we collect around here.
So, the toy haul:
The Flash (McFarlane Super Powers Wave 1)
Princess Buttercup (McFarlane)
Toony Comics Superman
An El Camino
A couple Day of the Dead muscle cars
I don’t do trips like these often, but when I do, I always make sure everything is obtained at a deal.
Authortube: My Book is Not Selling! What Do I Do? | Part One: Encouragement
You’ve done all you can. You wrote the book to the best of your ability, you got an editor to correction some issues, you got a fancy book cover, and solid distribution.
Yet your book is not selling, or not selling in the amount you want. What do you do? How can this be fixed? Surely must be a way to move copies.
What am I doing wrong? You might ask yourself.
The following video, part one of a series, might be of help. Step one: Encouragement.
vLog – Clear Lake Manitoba 2024 – Reflections on the Water
Earlier last week I spent a few days at Clear Lake in Manitoba for some relaxation and writing time. The time was spent taking walks, taking a few pictures, having a burger, and eating some ice cream. In between that stuff, I wrote and just relaxed.
This year for our 2024 holiday, we’re did more of a staycation with plans for an away vacation another time. However, this trip to Clear Lake was a way to get away from it all and get some distance from the rat race.
Enjoy!
