Canister X Mailbag – Black Playing Cards Unboxing – 02072024
Well, we got sucked back into the world of TEMU and got ourselves some playing cards on the cheap, and since specialized playing cards usually cost you your eye, these were deals I couldn’t pass up.
Into black? Then these black playing cards are for you. Well, they’re for me but we’ll pretend to share over the Interwebs.

All right, so things are starting to come together. Just over the weekend I received back the edits for AXIOM-MAN/CRIMSON CLOAK: SCARLET SYNERGY, which means that after I go over the edits (which is me doing just that: looking at the edits only prior to a final pass), the book goes into the production machine, gets a final look-over, then off to you, dear reader.
I’m really excited to release this book. It’s not your usual Axiom-man story and it was a chance for me to start a mythology that may or may not be true. I’ll leave that to you to decide for when the book comes out.
Also, I got the final piece I needed for my Writing 101 series I’m bringing to YouTube. There’s a method to the madness here and a bit of scheduling. It’ll all make sense as the episodes come out.
Lastly, this week is also a major work week with a ton of hours needing to be put in so if I’m a bit silent on the social feeds, that is why.
Canister X Mailbag – Neck Massager, Display Stand, and Gold Playing Cards Unboxing – 02072024
We experimented with a new online vendor for some affordable necessities. The store is called Temu, a place to get things at a severe discount but also reliable service and ease of use. We checked the reviews of the app before purchasing and the reviews held up so we took a shot in the dark . . . and the shot came back with what I ordered.
Please enjoy this “experimental” unboxing video.

REALM OF HEROES AND MONSTERS: STORY TIME with A.P. FUCHS: S01EP25 –
The Text
In this episode, A.P. Fuchs talks superhero motivations and what those really look like and how it can be a challenge for creators to come up with a plausible and believable motivation for their heroic character. Supervillains get a little more leeway because they’re generally crazy or have some kind of disorder, but the superhero motivation is looked at and ends with a summarizing statement Alan Moore once said regarding superhero motivations. After that, Fuchs gives a quick update on where his books are at in the publication process then heads right into story time, which is an experimental piece of flash fiction told in texting back-and-forth format.

Metahumans vs Werewolves: A Superhero Anthology Book Spotlight
The war between Good and Evil has raged since before Time began. Now it’s ultimate power versus ultimate savagery.
With ferocious fangs, flesh-ripping claws and a feral hunger to destroy anything in their path, werewolves are one of the most feared monsters on the planet.
Stepping in to stop their quest for blood are the metahumans, men and women with powerful abilities that set them apart from the rest of humanity. Some wear costumes as symbols of hope, others operate discreetly, using their special abilities for good. Put these two groups of people together and you have a clash between light and darkness that is sure to rock the foundation of the world and bring about an epic battle unlike anything seen before.
Featuring familiar heroes like Axiom-man, Midnight Angel, Nightcat, The Wraith, The Cowl and others, these eleven stories of super-powered heroism and terror are a thrilling ride through the worlds of wolf and superhero, and to a place where only one can remain standing.
Contains stories by Frank Dirscherl, Lorne Dixon, A.P. Fuchs, Anthony Giangregorio, Keith Gouveia, Jon Klement, J.L. MacDonald, Gina Ranalli, Jim Robb, Stephen Semones and Scott Story.

. . . A.P. Fuchs and welcome to my blog where I have all sorts of things going on. I’m an independent writer, cartoonist, and freelancer in the worlds of books and comics. This is Canister X, my official web site and the Realm of Heroes and Monsters, where we attempt to entertain and inform you on a regular basis. (We blog 6 days a week, sometimes 7 so be sure to bookmark this site.)
I’ve been at this publishing thing for over 20 years and I still have lots to do. Presently, we’re big on video content—both longer videos and shorts and reels—and podcasts, so be sure you’re hooked up at the appropriate links below (podcast on YouTube).
My Patreon page is here. It’s a very special place where I post serial novels, serial comics, essays and articles on the creative arts business, behind-the-scenes secrets, artwork, photography, and more. Join me and my other patrons and be a part of something entertaining and interesting with consistent content. Check out the wicked trailer for the page.
I’m also the writer/artist behind the webcomic, Fredrikus, which you can read from the beginning here.
On Saturdays, I send out my newsletter, The Canister X Transmission. It’s a weekly newsletter where we all come together after a busy week, unwind, regroup, and kick off the weekend. Presently we are in The Very LongYear Six. Join us.
Last Friday, I released an important essay to my patrons on how an author or artist can managing funding their current and future projects while still reaping the reward. How to budget as an author or artist is huge right now in this digital do-it-yourself era.
I cover a solid tip here on this site but the real meat and potatoes is below.
Excerpt:
“Money management can be the bane of many creators. It can be difficult to juggle funds for your project as well as keeping the financial reward from that project while also ensuring funds are available for the next project (never mind juggling the costs of life on top of this, especially in this era of inflation).
Here’s a solid approach:
First, understand the moment you decide to take your creation public and start charging money for it, you’re a business not a person. That’s how businesses work: They make something and sell it. No different here.”
Please visit here for the rest of the essay. Its intent is to save creators headaches regarding funding their work.
So if you read last weekend’s edition of THE CANISTER X TRANSMISSION, it was revealed that I spent last week working on this website behind the scenes while I wait on the editor for AXIOM-MAN/CRIMSON CLOAK: SCARLET SYNERGY and for my [hopeful] blurb for CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS. (The latter is presently airing on Patreon.)
This is an old site. If you’ve been with me even for just the past 5 or 6 years, you know a lot of content has been put up here. And as good as that is–because I want you guys to have content–technology and software is changing all the time (as we all know) so there are parts of this site on the interface side of things where all this content is produced that needs updating and adjustment.
I’ve managed to create an organized workflow to get it done and thus far have altered the Book and Comic Shop and the titles therein (plus a few other page tweeks). If you check it out, you’ll notice the book pages are laid out differently than before. This was a move to get rid of some old, unnecessary coding that, while it worked for a while, could have been better in terms of title presentation so that’s what I did: Made the book pages pretty just for you. Awww.
So you might notice over the next bit slight modifications to this site in terms of appearance. I like this blog site the way it is in terms of having the columns with the books and other bonuses along the sides with the main content in the middle. Keeps the fun stuff easily accessible while you peruse the content down the center.
Anyway, website-wise, that’s what’s been going down. It’s a bit of a big project on the whole but easy to manage when broken into chunks.
I look forward to having it done within the next month or so. It’s kind of a pick-at project so will take some time.
