It so happened that on Sunday morning I woke up about 2:30AM fully rested. I tried going back to sleep but no success so I got up, made some coffee, and headed down to the studio.
There was something peaceful about recording in a silent house without risk of anything happening that would require my attention. And it was especially helpful for podcast creation but each episode takes about an hour to record then, including processing time, another 3 hours for digital work, rendering, and upload.
Often, my recording and creation is on a clock. Sunday morning, it wasn’t.
Now, though this video is labeled as an Artisttube one, the principle is for artists of any craft. How do you overcome artistic block in today’s flooded publishing climate? Watch and find out. Clue: The solution is one word and starts with a F.

Authortube (Artisttube): What to Do When Stuck on a Drawing
It happens. You have the vision, you begin to draw, all goes smooth, the picture is turning out perfectly . . . then you hit a snag and can’t draw that arm. Every effort yields something less than desirable. Frustration sets in and you’re not sure if you should continue with the drawing or not.

Month almost over.
Lastly, this morning I gave the go-ahead at the distributor for CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS. My hope is the listings will start popping up soon (sometimes it’s almost immediate; other times it takes a few days) so we can launch this Saturday. I will monitor the book then go from there.
Two more days then the weekend, folks. Hang in there. Almost done.
This just happened at the time the video was made. I decided to make the video a little fired up because the arts are all about honesty and honest expression so that’s what you’re getting here.
The same rules of manners regarding the follow up is the same for freelancers as it is for working in the public or private sector. This is it on how to be a professional freelaner.

Authortube: A.P. Fuchs Superhero and Monster Writer Launched!
Did a pile of work this weekend, one of which was sending CAUGHT IN BLACK HEADLIGHTS off to press. If all goes to plan, it’ll be out June 1, 2024.
In the meantime, I’ve been doing a lot of Authortube videos so I decided to make an official playlist for them for you to enjoy. I also took the time to link one video to the next to ensure a smooth viewing experience. Please click the graphic above to be taken to the playlist. Also be sure to subscribe because there are plenty of Authortube videos coming, including a separate series on writing basics, the goal being that if you get the basics down as your foundation, everything else is just finer-point details going forward. Plus, if you understand the basics of writing–in this case, fiction–then it’ll save you a pile of headaches and frustration later come the revision process. It’ll also help ensure a quality book instead of the stuff being released today where writers don’t even understand the basics of writing and rush right into publishing.
Anyway, these Authortube videos are meant to get your head in the right space for creativity, the publishing business, and the craft in general.
