Episode 16: Rite of the Wolf – Straight from the pages of METAHUMANS VS WEREWOLVES, Axiom-man takes to the sky and encounters a pack of wild beasts only to soon find himself bound and part of some strange wolven ritual that could lead to dire consequences for not only Axiom-man himself, but to Earth as well.

vLog – Action Figure Shopping Trip Toy Haul (and more Hotwheels)

There was one particular item I was after this trip to Dollarama and that was getting Princess Buttercup. I have the Dread Pirate Roberts and he needed his princess. We also happened across a few other goodies at a couple other local places, namely the Toony Comic Superman for cheaper than Amazon (who screwed up the order thrice) and a Wave 1 Super Powers Flash action figure. Then, of course, hotwheels because them diecast cars are what we collect around here.

So, the toy haul:
- The Flash (McFarlane Super Powers Wave 1)
- Princess Buttercup (McFarlane)
- Toony Comics Superman
- An El Camino
- A couple Day of the Dead muscle cars
I don’t do trips like these often, but when I do, I always make sure everything is obtained at a deal.

Here’s authors A.P. Fuchs (superheroes and monsters) and Melinda Marshall (dystopian YA novels) Funko Pops!

Last Christmas I got myself, my girlfriend, and my kids custom-made Funko Pops as a gift. It was done through the Pop Yourself feature at Funko.com. It was a little round-about way to get them because Funko doesn’t ship to Canada (at least when I ordered last October) so I had to first ship to someone I know in the States then have them ship the Pops to me. It took a while but it certainly made everybody at Christmas happy and very surprised.

Episode 14: Beneath the Sand – Gerry heads off to the beach with his family after pulling a double shift to cover the cost of a broken dishwasher. Little did he know that his kids’ playful efforts at burying him in the sand would lead to a much more sinister situation. One . . . with something beneath the sand.

After, during the Story Behind the Story segment, Fuchs uncovers a theme that runs throughout his short stories and comes to an uncomfortable realization.

For something different this week, we take a look at a couple one-off Funko Pops, the Pops I collect because I like the character but don’t need to have every single version of them. In today’s case, we have Kyle Rayner Green Lantern and Geoffrey from Toys R Us as Superman. That last one was a hard find but I got it for a deal and it even came with a Funko Pop protector case! How cool is that?

To make matters worse, her boys are missing and the only clue as to their whereabouts is a shut-down movie theatre with spooky hosts.

Fuchs goes in the way-back machine and talks about his early days as a horror writer and the Stephen King influence on this particular story and what Mr. King indirectly taught Fuchs about writing and storytelling.

Authortube: What to do When You Write Yourself into a Corner

(and How to Get Out of It)

It’s okay. It happens. Sometimes the story rolls so strong you just go with it and see where it takes you. Unfortunately, though I firmly believe the Story knows best, sometimes a writer finds themselves in a place where they have written themselves into a corner and there is no way to move the story forward. Everything and everybody in your tale is stuck and locked in Time. You tried to fix it but only made it worse. You don’t want to scrap it or rewrite a pile of stuff that came before this point, and even if you backtracked, it wouldn’t be the same. What you have is perfect except . . . you’re in a corner.

Here’s how you get out of it and get the story moving again.
