Authortube: What to do When You Write Yourself into a Corner
(and How to Get Out of It)
It’s okay. It happens. Sometimes the story rolls so strong you just go with it and see where it takes you. Unfortunately, though I firmly believe the Story knows best, sometimes a writer finds themselves in a place where they have written themselves into a corner and there is no way to move the story forward. Everything and everybody in your tale is stuck and locked in Time. You tried to fix it but only made it worse. You don’t want to scrap it or rewrite a pile of stuff that came before this point, and even if you backtracked, it wouldn’t be the same. What you have is perfect except . . . you’re in a corner.
Here’s how you get out of it and get the story moving again.

vLog – Clear Lake Manitoba 2024 – Reflections on the Water
Earlier last week I spent a few days at Clear Lake in Manitoba for some relaxation and writing time. The time was spent taking walks, taking a few pictures, having a burger, and eating some ice cream. In between that stuff, I wrote and just relaxed.
This year for our 2024 holiday, we’re did more of a staycation with plans for an away vacation another time. However, this trip to Clear Lake was a way to get away from it all and get some distance from the rat race.
Enjoy!

REALM OF HEROES AND MONSTERS: STORY TIME with A.P. FUCHS: S02EP12 –
Below
Episode 12: Below – Carry loved his son. Always had even fifty years after his death. Except, Philip’s death was Carry’s fault and the Magic Man has come to help make things right. At a cost.
The Magic Man returns for this episode of the REALM OF HEROES AND MONSTERS: STORY TIME podcast with A.P. Fuchs. The Magic Man villain is a joy to write because he forces you to come up with unique ways for him to deliver on his word but always with a dark twist. You’ll learn more about it in the Story Behind the Story segment of this week’s episode.
Thank you for supporting the show thus far and right now, here in Season Two. Truly, thank you for listening.
Cheers.

I discovered Indiana Jones as a kid and have been a huge fan ever since. Sure, we all love the classic trilogy, but I don’t think they did too bad a job with the new installments either. Harrison Ford nailed the role of Professor Henry Jones Jr. aka Indiana Jones. He played the role serious despite some of the humor, and, if you pay attention, there is a bit of a dual identity thing going on as Dr. Jones acts one way as a professor but when given permission to go full archaeologist, suddenly Indy takes over and he’s the action hero we all love even when it’s him doing non-actiony things.

vLog – Action Figure Shopping Trip Toy Haul (and some Matchbox and Hotwheels)
This was a good collectibles shopping trip. It happened to be one of those occasions where everything was on sale. Yeah, it involved a little bit of indulgence of the wallet but these are action figures I would have bought at some point anyway and, when that point would come, might be stuck paying full price or more for so had to take advantage of the sale.

Something Rotten Up North
Episode 11: Something Rotten Up North – When Axiom-man is notified of the dead coming back to life in Flin Flon, Manitoba, he takes flight and heads north to verify the terrible news. Upon his arrival, he is greeted by hordes of the walking dead. As he struggles to fight them and search for survivors, Axiom-man soon discovers the problem is far worse than he thought.
This episode is the pinnacle of Heroes and Monsters because this time we have Axiom-man facing off against zombies. Now, he’s done it before in THE DEAD LAND (stick around until after the credits for more on this book) but I wanted to have him fight the undead again, so this little publisher had a brainwave of an idea and assembled a group of indie writers who had superhero creations of their own. The rules? None, other than it had to be your superhero versus at least one zombie. What came in for stories was amazing and so the anthology, METAHUMANS VS THE UNDEAD was born, as was the METAHUMANS VS series.
Tune into this exciting episode of superhero and monster mayhem with A.P. Fuchs!
Thanks for listening.
Cheers!

The latest and hottest in Axiom-man superhero collectibles is here! This special coin is gorgeous. The polish is so clean that, like in the video, it’s almost transparent despite being a shiny gold. Check out the detail and the amazing stamping and mintage of the coin.
This is a special high-end collector’s item and is available for direct order.
As we gaze together out onto the water and the camera drifts around, we take a few moments to reflect on superheroes and if they have the ability to truly get away from it all. This writer believes they can’t and is discussed in this vLog.
But besides that, who doesn’t like some relaxing scenery footage? (Ignore the wind. I’m not in charge of it lol.)
Enjoy.

Like a Worm
Episode 10: Like a Worm – Gary wakes up surrounded by damp dirt. He can’t move. Trapped. And there’s others around him. He just can’t see them.
Playing into one of Fuchs’s fears, this episode is about both the short story itself and about being an introvert and the problem of confinement. Plus stick around for after the credits for an important PSA. No, really, it is important.
Tune in.
Thanks for listening.
Peace.
