  • Axiom-man — Now an Offical Member of the Justice League of America . . .

. . . in DC Universe Online, anyway (available for free download for PC and PS3). The other day I saved Superman from Lex Luthor and was officially invited to the Hall of Justice and bestowed a Justice League emblem and an offical induction into the League.

This game has become a pretty big part of my life lately and is especially cool because I get to play as my own superhero character, Axiom-man. First Axiom-man was in novels, then in comics, then in cosplay . . . and now is active in the DCU.

Of course, he’s not a DC Comics character and is exclusive property of Coscom Entertainment, but to “role play” as him so to speak–takes it to a new level, especially since he has superpowers in the game, something you can’t get out of cosplay.

Below are some screen shots of Axiom-man in the DCU. I was able to get his costume pretty close based on the templates/formats available for players. Also in the shots below he’s wearing his Justice League emblem–given to him by Oracle–which he only wears in-game, at least for now.

Take a look, click to zoom in:

  • The Numbers are in: Total Books Sold in 2011

Just finished crunching my numbers for my personal book sales in 2011. I set out at the beginning of last year with a 5000-book goal. The Lord’s blessed me with more than that. Last year, I sold over 5850 Fuchs books and comics!

Amazing, especially since in 2010 I sold 1889 books and comics, so that’s, what, a roughly 300% increase? Truly blessed and thankful.

In this day and age when reading is on the decline and most folks would rather watch TV or play video games, to sell nearly 6000 books in a year for a single author/artist is very special. You readers are great, Jesus is great, and fandom is great.

In last year’s post, I mentioned 2011′s 5000-book goal, so to do the same this year, let’s see if we can hit 8000 books for 2012. Anything you can do to help me reach that goal would be sincerely appreciated. Nearly all my books are less than $5 on Kindle, and paperbacks range from $7-15. Comics are at $2.50-$3.00. Nothing to break the bank.

But I also want to repay you readers on a regular basis and offer stuff for free, so right now the first book in my paranormal romance vampire series, Blood of my World–Discovery of Death–is free on Kindle, Nook and Smashwords. Also, here on this blog I have a serial post-apocalyptic zombie love story called Zomtropolis, which I recommend for those looking for a different take on the undead than what’s usually offerered on bookstore shelves.

So once again, thank you for such a great year in books and comics.

    Blessings,

    A.P. Fuchs

  • New “Game of the Year Edition” Batman: Arkham City Trailer Plus the New Harley Quinn DLC

Just got back into this game a couple nights back. So amazingly good that if you haven’t been playing–and replaying and replaying and replaying–then I feel bad for you.

Aside from the current DLCs: Catwoman, Nightwing, Robin; and all the challenge maps and amazing Batman skins–nevermind the bonus skins that come with Nightwing, Robin and Catwoman–Rocksteady Studios have unleashed the final chapter in the ridiculously awesome game that is Batman: Arkham City.

A Harley Quinn DLC. From the looks of it, it takes place after the main campaign story. Won’t say more in case you haven’t played, but I heard it’s a two-hour campaign and, I’m sure, it’s going to be utterly twisted.

What’s even better is instead of having to buy all the bonus DLCs like before, they ALL come in the Game of the Year Edition of Batman: Arkham City. You also get Batman: Year One, which was pretty good.

Sweet, but, alas, I have the game and the DLCs aside from the Harley one. I suspect that’ll be downloadable via the PS3 store in due time.

Truly can’t wait for the Harley story.

    Nope.

    Won’t wait.

Leading independent horror, zombie mash up and superhero fiction publisher, Coscom Entertainment (www.coscomentertainment.com) has signed a Management and Production Deal with Hughes Capital Entertainment and newly formed, Management Period. The focus of the relationship is to integrate the Canadian-based Publishing company into mainstream entertainment via motion picture, interactive/videogame, and television mediums. Some of Coscom’s flagship titles such as The War of the Worlds Plus Blood, Guts and Zombies by H.G Wells and Eric S. Brown and Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim by Mark Twain and W. Bill Czolgosz are coming out under Simon and Schuster’s Gallery Books imprint later this fall. Standout titles like Alice in Zombieland and World War of the Dead will be the immediate focus of the HCE development team.

Hughes Capital Entertainment is currently negotiating a DVD deal for some of the titles, developing some as larger features, and focusing on top seller Zombie Fight Night as the break out video game title. “What’s better than playing a first person fighter where zombies, werewolves, vampires, samurai, kick boxers, robots, and superheroes like Axiom-man all battle it out to the death?” says HCE President/Producer Patrick Hughes.

Coscom joins HCE and Management Period’s already impressive talent and corporate list of clients which includes best-selling authors, top screenwriters, show creators, top musicians, and directors.

I just cannot believe how amazing this looks.

And, you know, even if a Justice League live-action movie never gets off the ground, I’d completely settle for a JLA movie done in CGI if it looks anything like this DCU Online trailer.

    So crazy good.
