Here you go. Four minutes from The Amazing Spider-Man due out in theatres July 3.

Got to say, this looks . . . AMAZING. (No pun. Well, maybe a little one.) Just hope it’s not some angst-filled flick geared for teens. Also hope, as the trailer implies, it isn’t about Peter’s destiny having been determined by his father back when he was a kid. Hope it’s just a red herring to throw off fanboys like me.

This looks really good, especially now that we get a good look at the Lizard.

I admit, from a writer’s standpoint, the plot as revealed in the trailer looks cliche–the whole “you were designed for this and your parents are part of a secret conspiracy of man/creature experiments” thing–but in terms of the Spider-Man character, even Peter Parker, it looks really good.

And it has Martin Sheen! Come on! See it just for that if you’re not into Spidey.

Without further ado, I presented you–well, not me but Columbia Pictures–the new trailer for The Amazing Spider-Man.

This is an incredible trailer, and I’m not just saying that because I’m a Batman fan. This trailer seriously invokes the tone of the overall movie, one of courage, defeat, perseverance, and ultimately, we hope, victory.

Seeing Bane really act in this trailer for the first time made me see that, yes, Christopher Nolan et al. are using the Knightfall storyline, merging it with the current movie Batman mythos, while also giving the story a new twist with Catwoman, which I suspect has a kind of hero/villain role in this given the trailer.

Looking forward to July getting here. I also heard a Superman: Man of Steel will be playing in front of Dark Knight Rises. Going to be a DC-riffic summer.

Are you kidding me? You mean we’re going to get an absolutely killer Spider-Man film? I’m not saying the others were terrible. Spider-Man 2 was my favorite superhero movie of all time until Batman Begins came out. Even the Spider-Man 3 was a decent flick. Its only real flaw was that it was overcrowded which in turn worked against it.

But, man, this trailer, a combo of the previously-seen Amazing Spider-Man trailer and some new footage, just rocked my world.

I’m so there this summer. Dare I say that this flick might give Avengers a run for its money? I dare.

Hot off the Net-reels, this new trailer gives us more of the story while still serving up a heap of action. This fanboy is beside himself at the moment. May 4 . . . think I’m going to start hanging around outside the theatre after this entry just to be sure I get a good seat.

And be sure to watch all the way through because the bit after the title card has got me drooling. Seriously, what is that thing?!

Christopher Nolan and team has just released the new official trailer for next summer’s The Dark Knight Rises. Just like the teaser, it shows you everything but nothing at the same time. What I found particularly interesting about this new trailer is that Batman is hardly in it, something you wouldn’t think would be part of a trailer promoting a superhero movie.

It’s enough of a hook that makes me wish I could pre-order my ticket to the box office now than wait another seven months.

As for the poster, folks online have been finding hidden elements. The first two were nods to the upcoming Superman: Man of Steel movie: the S shield. (Seen in blue.)

My good buddy, Doug Mann–be the Captain Attention-to-Detail guy that he is–pointed out to me a couple more: the famous stitch marks as worn by serial killer Zsasz, as well as a shadowy shot of the Bat cowl. (Seen in red.)

Shows you enough to get excited, holds back enough to leave you wanting more.

Iron Man, Thor, Captain America, Hulk, Black Widow, Nick Fury, Hawkeye, Loki–

This flick is going to be killer.

For us Batman nerds eagerly awaiting what will no doubt be a crazy awesome sequel to the fan-favorite Batman: Arkham Asylum, on October 18 comes Batman: Arkham City. Tidbits, pictures and movies have been leaking onto the Net all year, and below is the one featuring the Joker.

Dig it.

This movie looks seriously good.

Short and sweet. I like it (except for the backwards S shown in the reflection).
