A Rising Army.
The Devil.
War.
The forces of Good and Evil are gathering, each side preparing themselves for what could be their last confrontation because the commander of the armies of darkness has arrived on Earth—the devil himself.
Overwhelmed after witnessing the manifestation of Heaven’s fallen angel, Lucifer, Billie is assigned two final tasks before the big battle. These assignments take her across the world where she meets two German brothers who prove to be tremendous allies as she goes to recruit brave men and women for humanity’s last stand, and the strange supernatural tool required to finally set all things right.
Back in the city, Joe and Tracy have to lean on each other and learn that a world full of zombies with Hell’s army at the door isn’t a time to keep secrets and risk the lives of others to keep them safe. The two go head-to-head as they struggle to survive what they discover are the last days of the zombie invasion and the powerful supernatural forces behind it.
This final installment in the Undead World Trilogy is a wild adventure through a post-apocalyptic world that takes the reader to the very gates of Hell for one last strike against an enemy that has destroyed a planet. |

Here we go. Writing marathon time. First one. The last, if you could call it that, was when I was clocking in around 4000 words a day to finish Possession of the Dead in time for the C4 Con of 2010.
This is my workstation. I’ll be posting updated word counts on Twitter after each session.
Time to finish Axiom-man: City of Ruin. My readers have been waiting a long time for it. Time to give it to them.

Today is the 28th, which means it’s time to compare last month’s sales numbers of numbers of my love story, April written under then pen name Peter Fox, (which had the old cover) to this month’s sales with the new, and try and determine if a good cover makes a big difference in book sales. Here are the numbers. My conclusions are below.
February sales: 101 copies, or $418.02 earned on the Kindle.
March sales: 140 copies, or an estimated $586.60 based on the 70% royalty for the Kindle copies.
Not bad. Not huge numbers, but by the time the 31st rolls around, April will have paid my mortgage for the month.
However, does the above mean that a new cover has a huge impact on a book? On the surface, it looks like it, but there’s only a 39-copy difference between this month and last. 39 copies, though I’m happy for readers reading the book, isn’t enough of a jump to confirm that a good cover makes or breaks a book. Case in point, I updated both covers to Blood of the Dead and Possession of the Dead, as as of now, Blood of the Dead is only up by 2 from last month and Possession of the Dead is down by 1 from last month. And those two are priced a dollar cheaper than April.
At best, a good cover can help, but it isn’t a catalyst. Comparing my personal figures for the month just proves my theory that genre is everything in terms of numbers, and I’m going to prove that when I launch my vampire novella trilogy in about two weeks. It’s called Blood of my World, and is a vampire love story over three books. I have a suspicion they’ll do very well solely because it’s vampires and love stories. Watch this space for more info.
And for anyone wondering, yes, I went out of my way to write those books just to make a point about genre being the reason why some books sell like mad and why others don’t.

As part of my previously-mentioned experiment regarding cover art for books, last night I did up new covers for the two books currently on the market for my Undead World Trilogy (the third’s not out yet, aiming for later this year). At present, these new covers are available for the Kindle and Drivethru Horror only, however will start showing up for the Nook and elsewhere as soon as those distributors update their listings with the new art. If the new covers prove to move more copies in eBook format, then I’ll be updating the paperback versions as well.
To be honest, I really love the original covers to Blood of the Dead and Possession of the Dead. The artists did a fantastic job. I even have promotion posters of both covers in my office. The thing is, my personal tastes fall more into the comic book-style covers, whereas most readers enjoy the photo/traditional covers gracing most books these days. That was kept in mind when making these new covers last night and I’m interested to see how these eBooks fare with the new covers, everything else about them staying the same.
Here they are below, the new covers to Blood of the Dead and Possession of the Dead. Click on the book covers to be taken to their page for Amazon’s Kindle.
Thanks.

“With The Weaponer, Eric S. Brown reloads the zombie genre for a take-no-prisoners tale of action, heartbreak and adventure.” – Jonathan Maberry, NY Times bestselling author of Patient Zero and Dead of Night
“If George Romero ever decided to combine Shane and The Road Warrior, he’d probably write something a lot like Eric S. Brown’s The Weaponer.” – Peter Clines, author of Ex-Heroes
“The Weaponer combines the old west with modern technology and an army of the living dead to create a bleak and chilling tale of a post-apocalyptic future. But at its heart, it’s a story about the human will to survive.” – S.G. Browne, author of Breathers
“The Weaponer takes the reader into the remnants of the modern world, where old west values take the place of modern comfort in a land of human savages and the zombie curse. Eric S. Brown sculpts his story like The Weaponer, as ‘an artisan of death.’” – Bowie V. Ibarra, author of the Down the Road Zombie Horror series
Synopsis:
Long after the fall of man, humanity lives sheltered behind a massive wall that encloses the United States’ last survivors of civilization. Outside the wall, the undead rule the world.
Generations have passed and mankind has returned to the technology and life of the Old West, surviving off the land and doing what they can to get by.
Hyattsburg, a haven once thought safe behind the wall, has visitors: hungry zombies.
When an entire family is murdered and partially eaten, Alan, the world’s last remaining Weaponer, is called to duty to aid those struggling to remain safe, as well as find out what happened and if the dead are the only ones to blame for the grisly deaths of innocents.
Terror and zombies rule an Old West Apocalypse in The Weaponer.

This year has been an interesting year for me creatively. I got done more writing this year than I had in 2009. I finished my book, Zombie Fight Night, released it; wrote 95% of Possession of the Dead, released it; edited and compiled my short story collection, Magic Man Plus 15 Tales of Terror, released it; and aside from a week or two here and there, kept up with my weekly installments of Zomtropolis.
All this on top of publishing and marketing books for Coscom Entertainment.
It’s been busy.
Looking ahead to the New Year, I have a pretty good idea what’s going on with me creative-wise, the main things being to write and publish the third and final book in my Undead World Trilogy; finish and publish Zomtropolis; and finish and publish the next Axiom-man novel. Those are priority. Anything else I write is just extra at this point.
Since I do most of my creative writing in the evenings, I need something to do during the dayjob, which is Coscom Entertainment.
So . . .
Next year we’re going to be publishing new novels by Lorne Dixon, Nickolas Cook, Ryan C. Thomas, Keith Gouveia, Eric S. Brown, W. Bill Czolgosz and more.
We’re going to see the mass market release of two Coscom Entertainment mash-ups (the reissues of Adventures of Huckleberry Finn and Zombie Jim by Mark Twain and W. Bill Czolgosz (April 2011), and Alice in Zombieland by Lewis Carroll and Nickolas Cook (March 2011)), the continuation of the Coscom Entertainment Monster Novella line (the first of which, The Weaponer by Eric S. Brown, is already available on the Kinde here, with the paperback coming next week), more titles in the Coscom Blue Banner Classics line (current ones include, Emma, Persuasion, Mansfield Park and Northanger Abbey, all by Jane Austen), and other extra surprises and fun projects.
It’s going to be busy, but it’s going to be fun, and I hope you stick around for the ride.
And as if that wasn’t crazy enough, I’m going to attempt a regular comic book (probably a new issue every six weeks), and bring Axiom-man to the comic book world on a regular basis. It was comics that got me started in this business and I’ve been itching for the past three years to get hardcore back into it. It’s time I did something about that.
It sounds like a lot–and it is–but I have a plan to help keep things on track, and the support of the best team of authors around. Seriously, those I publish through Coscom Entertainment are amazing men and women who are not only awesome on the page, but also in real life as well. Please support them by checking out their books. They deserve it.
Okay, it’s back to work for me. Hope everyone else is having a productive day as well.

What: Merry Undead Christmas Booksigning
Where: Coles Bookstore – Kildonan Place, 1555 Regent Ave. West, Winnipeg, MB
When: 6:00pm – 8:00pmDetails:
This Friday I’ll be at Coles Bookstore in Kildonan Place Mall to sign copies of BLOOD OF THE DEAD, POSSESSION OF THE DEAD, ZOMBIE FIGHT NIGHT and MAGIC MAN PLUS 15 TALES OF TERROR, plus any other book from your A.P. Fuchs collection you’d like to get signed.
This is a great opportunity to get a zombie book signed for a loved one for Christmas. I’ve done Christmas signings many years in a row and a good portion of the books picked… up are for others. Nice way to get a personalized note to the intended reader.
Here’s a couple of quick synopsis’s for you for two of the titles:
Angels.
Demons.
Giant Zombies.
Things have changed.
Ever since returning through the Storm of Skulls to the present day, Joe, Billie and August have discovered the world they now inhabit, is not the world they left behind. The zombie threat has evolved to gargantuan proportions. Now aided by giant undead—massive monsters with phenomenal strength and power, with deadly appetites just as vast—the zombie population moves to devour any and all life.
Separated from his friends, Joe learns that not all hope is lost for humanity when he meets, Tracy, a woman who exudes a strength to rival his own. Tracy brings him to the Hub, an underground sanctuary where life continues in a dead world, but his thoughts linger on his missing friends.
August and Billie have problems of their own, and soon learn the same plight that affected a past friend of theirs now affects many: zombies with shapeshifting capability. Now, anyone is suspect. Yet even with this newfound knowledge, more is heaped upon them when the agenda of the undead is revealed and humanity is the one caught in the crossfire.
A war is raging, one between angels and demons, monsters and man.
And it’s only escalating.
In 2027 A.D., the Zombie Apocalypse took the world by storm and no one was prepared. Countless lives were lost as humanity battled to regain control of their planet. Eventually, they did, and out of the ashes of fallen civilization rose a new world, one bent on revenge against the hordes of the undead that took everything from them.
Enter Tony Sterpanko, entrepreneur extraordinaire who found a way to capitalize on humanity’s thirst for vengeance against the zombie. He created Zombie Fight Night, a worldwide craze where the undead men and women who remained from the apocalypse faced off against people and beings that once existed on Earth or were existing for the first time.
It is ten years later and at Blood Bay Arena, fortunes are won and lost. Men are made millionaires over night. Others are not so lucky and find themselves broken and destitute.
Mick Chelsey is one such man: gambling addict, lousy husband and Zombie Fight Night fanatic.
Except now, in order to still watch the fights and try to win back all he’s lost, he needs to bet fast and big otherwise death will come for him.
Let the battles begin.
Zombies fight Bigfoot, werewolves, vampires, Axiom-man, Bruce Lee, samurai, kickboxers, robots and more in this ode to blood-and-guts action from Blood of the Dead author, A.P. Fuchs.
You ready to get it on?

Hope to see you there. Would love to talk books, zombies, writing, comics and anything else you’d like.Peace.
