Behind-the-Scenes: Another Recent Manuscript
Recent, as in I just finished it less than an hour ago. This was the latest long Axiom-man novel. It’s the block of papers on the right in the binder. The one on the left is the aforementioned Axiom-man Episode No. 2. They’re together because, well, I don’t think I have another binder kicking around.
This new Axiom-man book came in at about 45,000 words, which was shorter than I wanted but you can’t force the story to be more than what it is. It’ll probably be around 50,000 words after rewrites as I’m more of a putter-inner than a taker-outer. Not bad. I started it around 4pm on Sept. 16, so 45k in 8 days isn’t too shabby considering how crazy life is at the moment. I’m behind schedule, though, which means it’s go-go-go from here on out to make the Oct. 10 press day.
I’ll be revealing official titles in the near future, and I saw the colored artwork to Axiom-man Episode No. 2 yesterday and it looks amazing. Can’t wait to see the colored art for the one I just finished today. (You could read some, if you want, by zooming in on the photo. I’m not going to blur it out. Just bear in mind it’s first draft. I’m going downstairs to make dinner instead.)
If you’re an eBook fan, you can grab the first four Axiom-man books for a great deal on Kindle here.
If you’re a paperback junkie like me, they can all be found on Amazon here.
